Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center is a mental health facility in the heart of Howard County. The facility itself is under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The center is a maximum security facility and is a center for those who have been accused of a felony but have raised mental health as a defense. The facility supports 250 beds and provides mental health treatments to the offenders who are committed there.
